This 3 days’ safari takes you to Kidepo Valley National Park, one of the most stunning national parks in Uganda and was named by CNN as top tourist destination in Africa and the park is also well known as most remote national park in Uganda. The park has plenty of wildlife and best for game drives. You will encounter variety of wildlife including lions, bat-eared fox, striped hyena, aardwolf, caracal, wild dog, and cheetah, “mane-less zebra”, bush pig, warthog, giraffe, cape buffalo, eland, bushbuck, bush duiker, defassa waterbuck, bohor reedbuck, Jackson’s hartebeest, and oribi among other. The park is also good for bird watching.

Day 1: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

Our company guide/driver will pick you up from the hotel after your morning breakfast at 6:00am. Kick off with the 12 hours’ journey to Kidepo valley National park using Kampala- Karuma- Gulu- Kitgum- kidpeo route. You will have a chance to see the beautiful Karuma falls, local homestead and beautiful green vegetation. You will have lunch break from Gulu town and after you will proceed to Kidepo valley national park. Upon arrival you will check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Game drive and Cultural tour

Leave you lodge at 6:30 am and set off for morning game drive where you will get a chance see a number of fauna and flora. You will have panic breakfast from the wild as you enjoy the game drive.

Kidepo Valley National Park has high biodiversity of fauna, with at least 86 mammal species, third behind Queen Elizabeth National park and Murchison falls national park for its mammal diversity. 28 of the 86 species of mammals in Kidepo Valley National Park are not found anywhere else in Uganda’s national parks.

Drive to Narus valley where you will enjoy the game drive and expect to encounter striped hyena, Cheetah, Ardwolf, greater and lesser Kudu, lion, Klipspringer, Dik-dik, Bright’s Gazelle and Chandler’s mountain reed buck, African elephant, Zebra, Buffaloes, Water buck, Jackson’s hartebeest, Lions, Leopard and both black-backed and side-striped Jackal are found here.

Return to the lodge for lunch and after lunch head for cultural visit to Karamojong region where you will meet the native Karamojong people at Kapedo and Karema. Have chance to see and enter Manyattas where Karamojong sleep, visit the ‘Kraals’ where they keep cattle because cattle keeping is they main activity and you will see the grinding stones which they use for grinding flour. You will get to enjoy their traditional dance and you will be gifted with Africa crafts. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at the pervious lodge.

Day 3: Departure

Having woken up early enough in time to grab a warm cup of coffee and after sign out of the lodge. Set off for long journey back to Kampala with lunch stopover. You will arrive to Kampala late in the evening and guide/driver will drop you off at the hotel or Entebbe international airport where you will find your flight back home.
