This 5 days’ wildlife and chimpanzee safari takes you to Murchison falls national park and Budongo forest for an exciting Uganda safari. Murchison falls national park is the largest national park in Uganda hosting over 75 mammal species and over 500 bird species. You will encounter different wildlife and bird species during this tour which includes warthogs, lions, elephants, water buck, leopards, giraffes, heartbeets and buffaloes to list the few.

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe
Akita wild tour’s staff will meet you at Entebbe International Airport and drive you to the hotel. If your flight arrives in the morning or afternoon, you will go to enjoy some coffee and take a relaxing walk around Lake Victoria and your guide will give you more information about Uganda as you get to know each other.

Day 2: Drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, and Murchison Falls National Park
Pick up from the hotel by our company guide/driver for transfer to Murchison falls national park. Drive through Kampala city, proceed to Nakasongola for a visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to enjoy a guided walk to see the white rhinos. The Rhino Sanctuary currently has 14 rhinos and offers the unique experience of learning more about repopulation efforts under way. After continue with the journey with another stopover at Masindi town for lunch. Proceed with journey after lunch passing through the dusty road and upon arrival, you will have en-route game drive in search of wildlife as your heading to your lodge, check-in then have dinner and overnight stay.

Duration: 5-6 hour’s drive
Day 3: Game drives and launch trip
Leave the lodge at 6:30 am and embark on morning game drive on the northern bank of River Nile for your dawn game drive with higher chances of seeing the big cats hunting, lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthog, giraffes and other wildlife. Return to the lodge for late breakfast and early lunch break.
After lunch, you will embark on the 2 pm launch trip to the base of the Murchison Falls to cruise past huge hippo pods, crocodiles, bathing buffalo, and numerous aquatic birds adorning the north bank on the way to the mighty waterfalls as well as some of the world’s rarest vegetation. Have another en-route game drive as you are proceeding to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Chimp trekking, birding, and more game viewing
On this day, you will meet the chimps by getting an early start to catch chimps leaving their nests in the Budongo Forest and look out for other primates and forest bird species along the way. You will also look out for the black and white colobus monkey, red tailed monkey, baboon and grey-cheeked manga bay, and other primates that inhabit Budongo Forest. Over 360 species inhabit this forest, giving one of the rarest opportunities to take exclusive birding pictures.
Afterward, you will return to the hotel for lunch. After lunch, you will go for another game drive search for a variety of game animals and big cats. Akita wild tour wants to make sure you have the best of the safari. You will return to the lodge in time for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Return to Entebbe
You will drive out toward Kampala early morning. You can take pictures as you drive out at a relaxed pace. You will arrive in Kampala late afternoon. Airport drop-off can be arranged free of charge if you are flying out on the last day of the safari. If you have other activities planned, please let Akita Wild Tours know and they will send you a driver for airport drop-off at a later date.
