This 3 days’ safari takes you to kibale forest national park a home to over 1450 chimpanzee and the most populated park with chimpanzee in Africa. Kibale forest national park host a number of bird species that includes the Green-breasted Pitta, Yellow-billed Barbet, and African Emerald Cuckoo, Black-billed Turaco, Narina Trogon, Blue-shouldered Robin-chat, Sabine’s Spine tail, Chestnut Wattle eye and Narrow-tailed Starling among others. Because Kibale forest national park is well known as a home to primates, so expect to encounter a lots of other primates which includes the Red Colobus, Black and white Colobus, Grey-cheeked Mangabey, Olive Baboon, Red-tailed Monkey, and L’Hoest’s Monkey.

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale forest national park
Rise early, have breakfast and set off with the journey to Kibale forest national park a home to largest primates. Drive to western Uganda in the region of Toro Kingdom, drive through ever green vegetation, tea plantation and local home stead. Have lunch from Fort Portal and after lunch go for visit to crater lakes. On arrival at (the primate capital of the world) kibale forest national park you will check into the lodge where you will have dinner and overnight.

Duration: 4-5 hours’ drive
Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking
Having woken up early enough in time to grab a warm cup of coffee and report to Kanyanchu headquarters for briefing on do’s and don’ts of chimpanzee tracking. Enter the jungle in search of our closed relatives the chimpanzees and you will get a chance to see some bird species that includes the Green-breasted Pitta, Yellow-billed Barbet, and African Emerald Cuckoo, Black-billed Turaco, Narina Trogon, Blue-shouldered Robin-chat, Sabine’s Spine tail, Chestnut Wattle eye and Narrow-tailed Starling among others. After finding the chimpanzees, return back to the lodge for late lunch and relaxation at the pool side. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Bird in Bigodi and departure
Take morning breakfast and set off for Bigodi swamp walk to look out for bird species and you will get a chance of seeing more primates. Return to the lodge and check-out of the lodge. Drive to Fort Portal town where you will have lunch and then drive back to Kampala.
